Santa Caterina del Sasso was built in the 12th century and clings spectacularly to the rock above the lake – a sight that impresses children instantly from the boat. The approach is by boat, from Stresa, Verbania or Arona, right up to the monastery's rock face. Instead of dry facts, we tell the children the "legend of the hermit" who once sheltered here from a storm and built the monastery in gratitude – all comfortably from the boat, without going ashore. Fundamentally no shore visit is planned. Anyone who wishes to see the monastery from inside or plan a restaurant visit books 7 hours and arranges the stop individually with us. Afterwards the family enjoys a relaxed swim stop in a nearby bay with a shallow shore. On board we serve a small children's aperitivo with fruit juice, fruit and small snacks – the perfect finish before returning to the harbour.

Aboard the »Striga Constanze« you sail on a replica of a Northern European working boat from the early 1900s. A boat with character, history and comfort. The perfect setting for your cruise on Lake Maggiore.
